It’s no mystery that there are many great Trout fishing destinations in Wyoming. Casper is central to several of these Blue Ribbon Trout waters.  The 3 types of healthy hard fighting fish you can expect to see are Rainbow, Brown, and Cut Throat Trout.  In a couple hundred miles of great Trout waters you will see fish in a variety of sizes, anywhere from 12-24+inches. The Grey Reef stretch of the North Platte River starts some 30 miles South of Casper and flows North into Casper then East towards Nebraska.  There are some 60+ miles of excellent fishing on the Grey Reef.  Upstream of Grey Reef between Pathfinder and Alcova Reservoirs, you have the Fremont Canyon.  Even further upstream between Seminoe and Pathfinder Reservoirs you have the Miracle Mile stretch of river.  Each of these 3 sections of the North Platte River are all excellent trout fisheries.  If you travel further South upstream of Seminoe Reservoir with in a couple hours you will reach the upper North Platte River near Saratoga Wyoming.  There are miles and miles of Gold Ribbon waters here.  If you drive 2 hours North West of Casper you will find the start of the Big Horn River.  This is an excellent Trout fishery and one of our guides favorites.  You can know see how Wyoming is first choice in Trout fishing destinations.
